About Josh O’Donnell Electrical

Hello, I’m Josh O’Donnell, owner of Josh O’Donnell Electrical.

After years working in the trade, including on new-build developments and large construction sites, I decided to start my own business focused on reliable, high-quality electrical work with a personal touch. I’ve handled everything from small call-outs and lighting upgrades to full rewires, fuse board replacements and outdoor power installations.

My experience covers all aspects of domestic and small-business electrical work, from safety testing and certification to lighting design and outdoor electrics. Whether it’s a simple repair or a full installation, every job is completed safely, tidily and to the highest standard.

I take real pride in my work and stay up to date with new methods and products to ensure every customer gets the best results.

When I’m not working, I’m usually spending time with family or exploring around Scotland’s Central Belt, never too far from a good wiring job.

I look forward to helping with your next electrical project.

Frequently asked questions

People often have similar questions when it comes to electrical work, such as how pricing works, what’s included, what to expect on the day and how long things usually take. This section gives clear, straightforward answers so you know what to expect before any work begins.

The approach is simple. I explain what needs done, give a fair price, then carry out the work safely and tidily. No hidden extras and no hassle.

If your question isn’t covered here, just get in touch. I’m always happy to talk things through, even if you’re still planning.

  • What if something needs fixed later?

If it’s anything to do with my workmanship, I’ll sort it. If a part fails under warranty, I’ll get it replaced. No messing about.

  • Do you work with both homes and businesses?

Yes. Most of my work is in homes, but I also take on small commercial jobs like shops, offices and workshop units.

  • What areas do you cover?

I cover Edinburgh, Glasgow, Falkirk, Stirling and West Lothian. If you’re nearby but not sure, just ask. I’ll let you know if it’s doable.

  • Are you qualified and insured?

Yes. All work meets current regulations and I’m fully insured. You’re in safe hands.

  • How do I get a quote?

Send a message, call, or use the website form. I’ll ask what you need done, maybe request a photo, and then give a clear price. No surprises.

  • Do you charge for call-outs?

There’s no charge to price up a job. If I need to come out specifically to diagnose a fault, there may be a small fee, and I’ll explain that before anything happens.

  • Do you need me to be home while work is done?

Not always. If it’s straightforward and access is sorted, I can get on with it. We’ll do whatever is easiest for you.

  • Do you tidy up afterwards?

Yes, every time. I treat your home properly. Tools away, rubbish away, clean workspace.

  • Do you supply the materials?

I can supply everything at trade rates, or you can provide your own fittings. Whatever works best for you.

  • Can you help me choose lights or fittings?

Of course. If you’re unsure, I’ll suggest sensible options and explain the pros and cons in plain English.
